Where Imagination Meets Impact
Human-Centered Leadership, Learning, and Systems Design
Blooming Brilliance Co. supports educators, nonprofits, and leaders in building inclusive, trauma-informed, and sustainable programs, teams, and learning experiences.
Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Dr. Rachel Phelps, social worker, educator, leadership strategist, and systems designer.
I’ve spent over fourteen years building programs across education, mental health, and nonprofit systems, always asking the same question:
What would this look like if it actually worked for the people inside it?
That question is what led me to create Blooming Brilliance Co.
Today, I partner with educators, nonprofits, and leaders to design human-centered, trauma-informed, and sustainable systems, so teams can do meaningful work without burning out in the process.
I bring a mix of strategy, curiosity, and creativity to everything I do, and I’m not afraid to challenge the status quo if it means building something better.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me leaning into life with a little laughter, adventure, family, some caffeine, nature, deep conversations, and dreaming up the next idea.

How This Work Is Different
🌼 This isn’t one-size-fits-all consulting.
At Blooming Brilliance Co., the work is designed with people—not just for systems, compliance, or surface-level outcomes.
Many organizations are doing meaningful work inside structures that feel overwhelming, disconnected, or unsustainable.
This work is about changing that.
🌸 Built from Real Experience
This approach is grounded in over a decade of experience across:
K–12 education
Mental health and school-based services
Nonprofit and community-based organizations
Higher education and adult learning
That means the work reflects real constraints, real teams, and real implementation—not just theory.
🌿 Human-Centered at the Core
People are not an afterthought in this process—they are the foundation.
This work prioritizes:
Psychological safety and well-being
Inclusive and identity-affirming practices
Collaboration over compliance
Designing systems that support the people inside them
Because systems only work when people within them are supported.
🌻 Strategy + Reflection + Action
Many approaches focus only on strategy—or only on reflection.
This work intentionally integrates both.
You can expect:
Clear, actionable strategy
Space for reflection and critical thinking
Tools that support real-world application
Not just ideas—but plans you can actually implement.
🌼 Designed for Sustainability
Quick fixes often lead to burnout, confusion, or misalignment.
This work focuses on:
Long-term sustainability
Clear structures and roles
Alignment between values and practice
Systems that can evolve over time
Because meaningful work should not require constant exhaustion to maintain.
🌸 Collaborative, Not Prescriptive
There is no one “right” way to build a program, lead a team, or design a system.
Instead, this work is:
Collaborative
Context-specific
Adaptable to your organization and goals
We build together—so what you create actually fits.
🌿 Grounded in Both Care and Clarity
This is not about choosing between being people-centered or results-driven.
It’s about both.
Care for people
Clarity in systems
Alignment in practice
Impact that is meaningful and measurable
🌻 What This Means for You
When you engage in this work, you can expect:
Systems that are clear and usable
Programs that are aligned and fundable
Teams that feel more supported and connected
Work that is sustainable—not just urgent
🌼 A Different Way to Build
There are many ways to design programs, lead teams, and build systems.
This approach is for those who want to do it differently—
with intention, clarity, and care.
